Duncecap Reporting

That's what partisan FOX reporter Brit Hume should be wearing for twisting a new solar study from UDUB (U. of Washington)into the right wing myth of solar-induced global warming. It shows the opposite: the models are correct and the current warming is directing caused by CO2 production. Nothing will change that except reducing CO2. Time's a wastin'!

Thinktank Echochamber

It seems uber conseravtive thinktank blogger Michael Fumento doesn't allow comments on his blog. Well, it saves him embarassement of having others more knowlegeable prove him wrong. How free is that platform? I published his ad hominem. Yet another Postcard from Wingerville here. Fumento is a fellow at the Hudson Institute, and part of an organized global warming denial effort chronicled in the Newsweek piece I reported on in the last post. It appears I struck a nerve.

Op-ediots

Guys like this Samuelson are exactly the problem with free speech on op-ed pages in major papers. Somehow these sanctioned idiots with inflated paychecks get to play God with the facts. In this case, by framing a very damning account of global warming denial by Newsweek as a sort of faux morality play and thus disengenuous to The Truth. Only because it's Inconvenient.

The Denial Machine is the history of the truth on this matter and the players are named. The idea is to get Michael Gerson, Fumento and economic commentators like Samuelson to frame the stories as hype against industry, and thus not valid. It is valid and only industry can solve the CO2 production problem. As always, they need to be made to by those we pay to solve problems: public offcials. That's why we have them.

Al They All Came Tumbling Down

Bridges that is. All the hype about a handful of terrorists and how they can wreck the country at any moment, is the least likely thing to happen after that last major stunt. It was a freak success, albeit a big one, that has launched us into an oblivion of foreign and military deficit spending.

The real threat is government incompetence right here at home. You can't tell me a federal inspector couldn't have seen this Minnesota collapse coming. I mean really. They flagged the thing but apparently it needed a more stringint rating. Like condemned. If the engineers made as much effort as the State of California Agriculture Dept. does over my beetle traps no bolt would go unexamined, but then I'm not involved so...
