longtime regular of writersnet posted this piece on Powell's blog. I don't agree with this myth thesis of American beer versus craft beer. I don't know anyone who claims microbreweries are the majority of the American beer market because regular commerical beer is watered down. It is watered down, but also five bucks a 12-pack for some of the cheaper brands and there's no difference so there's your reason for big sales. Give what they want all right: cheap and plentiful. No myth about that to my knowledge, but saying so makes a good book hook.
