Leave it to a du Pont to screw up a historic home. Luckily, our fine historic preservationists at the National Park Service are having the Gilded Age additions removed. Hail James Madison! One of the most brilliant American presidents and political visionaries the world has ever known. This generation of Americans who included my ancestor Reuben Colburn were the most exceptional year class we've ever had. What we have now, even with all its faults, we owe to them.
