Is it El Nino?

It's both. Global warming e.g. anthropogenic forcing with CO2, most likely drives El Nino and La Nina events. It's not either/or. As ever snow if Denver or Pittsburgh isn't proof of anything except moisture laden air. In the warm world this is more likely and is a predicted chracteristic.
