If not, instead of defending the vanity press in whatever form, the better option would be to quit, because without this kind of effort you won't get anywhere. Yeah, we know the exceptions and they're few and far between. Consider the failed books practice and write another one. The fact of the matter is most of the people who write books based on just thinking they can are doomed to failure. When it becomes apparent they blame the system.
