What do you expect from the Russians? They couldn't find a suitable piece of ice from this area? Satellite picture of Arctic Ocean on 06/29/08 This is where they send dissidents now, rather than Siberia. Their time was up.

It's nice that you updated your own picture so that I can recognize you should you get lost and we meet on the street. Your profile says that you work in Livingston, Mont. but live in Sunland, Cal. That's one big commute. Have you ever thought about the carbon that you emit to make that drive each day?

Keep dropping by Marc Cooper's. It must aggravate the commenters to death.

Hey, one more thing. You might enjoy reading this about the IPCC: Prejudiced authors, Prejudiced findings - Did the UN bias its attribution of “global warming” to
humankind?
They're as crooked as the rest of the U.N.

On a serious note, here is a study on the Arctic ice from a scientific perspective: A different pattern of sea ice retreat

The Northwest Passage is still closed.

Well that's very funny Woodrow, but ice somewhere isn't ice everywhere. It's a volume problem. I actually maintain two homes. One there and one in Paradise Valley with the movie stars. My carbon footprint is low, but I'd like it to be even lower. Speaking of low, I don't ever go to Cooper's echo chamber anymore, or any other really. I don't the time for that kind of nonsense. I'm a paid writer.

Climate is long term. Sea ice is in a long term decline.

Hence the macro-hradline for the site you linked. Out of context material is a conservative staple. It's what makes them stupid.

"According to scientific measurements, Arctic sea ice has declined dramatically over at least the past thirty years, with the most extreme decline seen in the summer melt season."
