350 ppm
We are at 383 ppm of CO2 and climbing. At least we're homing in on the right number. Three hundred and fifty is the number every person needs to know. The tipping point is lowering.

I think you mean we are at 383ppm CO2? Didn't we pass 350ppm about 20 years ago?

Yes I pulled a 100 goof on that thanks. The 350 refers to a new threshold level that used to be 500ppm. Now we've already pased the mid point to trouble!

According to the last stats I saw run by Bill McKibben in an oped in the Washington Post on December 28, the current PPM stands at 394. See my text-only climate clock blog, which also links to a cool animated climate clock, although its stats say it's 440 PPM now.....
