More Self-Publishing Propaganda

Yeah, "agents are hard to come by and expensive" says the vanity press AuthorHouse. Not. They're easy to come by, just hard to sell crap to. Thus, the fuzzy deluded logic of this article. It never ends.

JW Rowling's Harry Potter book was rejected countless times by legitimate agents.

There is no mathematical way possible that every quality author (millions upon millions I'm sure) will be traditionally published and be given an equal amount of time. It's about talent and dumb luck, just like in Hollywood.

There are so many agents though, but publishing moves slow. Rowling is a "black swan," an unpredictable phenomenon that is the extreme exception. It only looks predictable in retrospect. Most books amateurs write are indeed crap. Slushpile odds remain the same. There will be a handful who will be published if they persevere.
