Blinded By Belief
There's no doubt that Terry Schiavo will never recover, yet Republicans, even doctors who hold strong religious views about the very nature of life, will suspend all history of training to shore up their beliefs in miracles. The concept is central to all faiths. It's natural for humans to want and need such a thing, but it's a whole different matter to deny reality because of it.
These are some scary dudes.

What intrigues me about this story is how the Republican leadership counted on being able to manipulate that "need to believe" for political gain, and yet the result has been a PR belly flop.
I'm not ready to pull out a blue marker and start coloring in states yet, but I think the Schiavo case marks a turning point in political history. Call it the High Water Mark of the Confederacy of Dunces.
Me either. It certainly shows how far they will go to promote this belief coup de ta at every bend in the road to the future. Great to have you stop by Daniel.
